The Mobile Hotspot feature allows you to share your Internet connection with others over WiFi. Other WiFi-enabled devices pick up these signals, and the Internet connection is shared. However, some users have complained that the WiFi network is not visible on their other devices.
This could be due to a number of factors, the most important of which is the WiFi network’s broadcast frequency.
How To Fix Mobile Hotspot Not Showing Up on Other Devices in Windows 11/10
In most cases, a WiFi network is broadcast across only two frequencies. They are broadcast on two frequencies: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Because 5 GHz is a newer technology, it requires special hardware. Microwaves are among the several types of equipment and electrical appliances that use the 2.4 GHz frequency. As a result, the intensity of transmissions is disrupted.
To resolve this issue, you can try toggling the Network band or the frequency at which the network is propagated.
1. Open the Settings app on Windows 11/10.
2. Go down the following path: Network & Internet > Mobile hotspot.
3. Select Edit from the drop-down menu.
4. It’ll be in the Network name, Network password, and Network band sections.
5. Select 2.4 GHz as the network band.
6. Save the file by clicking Save.
Restart your Windows 11/10 device’s Mobile Hotspot as well as the WiFi on the receiving device.
