How to Take Screenshots on Android if App Doesn’t Allow [No Root]

In any operating system, taking screenshots is a standard function. It’s a pain, though, when you want to snap a screenshot on Android but the app won’t let you. Especially if you wish to share information with a friend or family member. This is a precautionary effort by Android to improve the security of Android in order to protect personal information.

While this is a smart move on Android’s part, it can be aggravating in the long run. If you try to share a screenshot of a webpage that is open in Chrome’s Incognito mode, you’ll get an error message that says “Couldn’t Save Screenshot — Taking screenshots isn’t allowed by the app or your organization.” Banking, payment, and social media apps are all affected in the same way.

Because Android is a flexible operating system, there are a variety of methods for taking screenshots on an Android smartphone, even if the app has disabled it.

We’ll show you how to snap a screenshot of a restricted app on Android in this post.

How to Take Screenshots in Restricted Apps without Rooting in Android

To take screenshots of Restricted apps on Android, you’ll need the help of Google Assistant, believe it or not. Aside from using Google Assistant, there are two more ways to snap screenshots in restricted apps on your Android phone.

Method 1: Taking Screenshots with Google Assistant

Method 2: Recording your screen with AZ Screen Recorder

Method 3: Using XRecorder, record the screen and then take a screenshot.

Method 1: Using Google Assistant to Take Screenshots

Follow the following instructions to capture screenshots on Android with Google Assistant if the app doesn’t allow taking screenshots:

1. On Android, open the restricted app you wish to snap a screenshot of.

2. Long-press the home button to bring up Google Assistant. If you don’t have a home button on your device, swipe from the corners of the screen.

3. On the Google Assistant page, click the Compass icon.

4. Now tap on the symbol for your Profile.

5. From the submenu, choose Settings.

6. Select General and check the boxes for Use screen context and Donate screen captures (optional).

7. Return to the restricted app and reopen Google Assistant by swiping from the screen’s corner or long pressing the home button.

8. Select the Share Screenshot option once the program has been launched.

9. Now choose the app you wish to share the screenshot with.

However, the screenshots you post will not be preserved in your Android device’s Gallery. If you want to snap another screenshot, go back to Step 6 and repeat the process.

If you’re using a solid File Manager program like Solid Explorer, the “Save to Device” option will appear in the Share Chooser. By choosing it, you can save the gadget locally rather than sharing it with everyone.

Method 2: Using AZ Screen Recorder

AZ Recorder is a wonderful screen recording software that can also be used to take screenshots. The nicest part about this app is that it is completely free, with fewer annoying advertisements and no time limits.

UPDATE: The method might doesn’t work these days. Despite that, you can give it a try; depending on your Android version, it might work for some of you.

This screen recorder tool can also be used to take screenshots in apps that are password-protected. Follow the steps below to do so:

1. From the Play Store, download and install the AZ Screen Recorder.

2. Open AZ Screen Recorder and grant it the permissions it needs.

3. On your screen, you’ll now see a floating button with numerous alternatives.

4. Open the Restricted app where the screenshot will be taken.

5. Select the Settings icon that looks like a toolbox from the floating button on your screen.

6. Enable the Screenshot option from the list and close the list.

7. A second floating button, a left-hand camera icon, will appear on your screen.

8. Tap on the Camera icon, and press the Allow button.

9. It will take a screenshot and save it to your gallery. After tapping on the floating window that appears, you can preview/edit the screenshot.

Method 3: Screen Record and then Screenshot with XRecorder

XRecorder is another screen recorder from the InShot Inc. stable. It’s similar to AZ Screen Recorder in that it can also be used to take screenshots. XRecorder is also free and has no time limits, as well as less advertising.

UPDATE: The method might not work for everyone. Despite that, you can give it a try. Depending on your Android version and device manufacturer, it may work for you.

Here, we’re using the XRecorder program to record the screen and then take a screenshot from the video. This may appear to be a bizarre hack, but it actually works. Here’s how to go about it.

1. From the Google Play Store, download and open XRecorder.

2. Give it the required permissions, then search your screen for the floating button.

3. Select the Red Dot icon from the floating button. The recording on your phone will begin at this point.

4. To take a screenshot of a restricted app, go to it and record the screen for 5 seconds.

5. After that, click on the floating button and select the Stop option (the square).

6. Allow the screen recording clip to play until it reaches the point where you wish to take a screenshot.

7. Once there, take a screenshot as usual, and it will be stored to your phone’s Gallery.

Conclusion

We hope you were able to capture screenshots using the methods described above. While Methods 2 and 3 are inconclusive as to whether or not they function, Method 1 is guaranteed to operate on all Android devices. Google can strengthen Android security by preventing users from taking screenshots in some restricted apps.
