How to reset REGEDIT to default in Windows 10

In this article, learn how to reset the Registry Editor window position, size, etc. to its default settings in Windows 10.

First of all, close the Registry Editor. And we would recommend you to create a system restore point and then run the reg file that we have given below as a download.

How to Reset Registry Editor window size and position

Download this file, extract the zip file using WinRAR.

Double-click on the .reg file, to add its contents to your Registry.

When you do this, LastKey and View values under the following Registry key will get removed:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Regedit

This will reset the Registry Editor window size and position.

Now the next time you close Registry Editor, the new values will automatically be recreated and saved.
