Congratulations, your installation was successful and error-free.
If this technique fails, you can use the second method to use Tor Browser on Kali Linux.

ii. Open the Tor Browser
Now that we’ve installed the Tor Browser Launcher, we need to open the Tor Browser on Kali Linux. To do so, type the following command in the terminal:
$ sudo torbrowser-launcher
You can also search for Tor in the search bar, and you’ll be given two selections for starting the Tor Browser.
A new window will appear on your screen after you perform the command or double-click the Tor Browser icon:

iii. Downloading Tor Browser for the first time

The first time you download the Tor browser, you’ll have to wait a while, depending on your internet speed.

iv. Connect to Tor

To connect to the Tor network, tap “Connect,” which will instantly connect you to the Tor network and allow you to utilize the Tor Browser on Kali Linux.

v. Tor Network Settings

You can set the network settings and utilize the proxy to connect to Tor in the Tor Network settings. If you are traveling or living in a country that censors Tor, you must manually set up the Tor Network using the options below. After that, you must click “Connect.”

vi. Establishing a Connection

Now you must wait while Tor Browser establishes a Tor network connection.

vii. Use Your Tor Browser

You may now utilize your Tor Browser under Kali Linux and access the .onion website, as well as host your own website utilizing the Tor network.

Second Method

Download the package and run Tor Browser manually in Kali Linux.

i. Download the package

To begin, go to the official Tor Browser website and download the most recent version of Tor Browser. You must select Download for Linux from the drop-down menu.

ii. Save the tor-browser-linuxxxxxx.tar.xz file

Save the tor-browser-linuxxxx.tar.xz file (in my case, tor-browser-linux64-9.0.10 en-US.tar.xz). And then open the Download folder after it has finished downloading.

iii. Unzip the downloaded file

Now you must unzip the downloaded tor-browser file using a terminal or Archive Manager, although I will use the command line in this article. Type the following commands in the Kali Linux terminal.

cd Downloads
Downloads$ ls
tor-browser-linux64-9.0.10_en-US.tar.xz
Downloads$ tar -xf tor-browser-linux64-9.0.10_en-US.tar.xz
Downloads$

Start the Tor Browser

To open the Tor Browser in Kali Linux, browse to the unpacked folder and double-click on Tor Browser, or type the following line in terminal.

Downloads$ cd tor-browser_en-US
Downloads/tor-browser_en-US$ ./start-tor-browser.desktop
Launching ‘./Browser/start-tor-browser –detach’…
Downloads/tor-browser_en-US$

This is how you can use Kali Linux to install and run the Tor Browser and surf the web anonymously to safeguard our privacy.

In this video, we are gonna show you how to download the package and run Tor Browser manually in Kali Linux 2021.2
