How To Fix Microsoft Store SLOW DOWNLOADS

In Windows 10, Microsoft introduced a slew of new updates and features, one of which is the Windows Store. Later, it was later renamed to Microsoft Store. It’s a one-stop-shop for all Windows applications. They must have taken a page from Apple’s book. In any case, the Windows Store makes it exceedingly simple to discover new programs, install them, and keep them up to current, all from a single user interface.

Everything is well until the Windows Store stops working properly. What happens if you start a new download and see that it is taking a long time to complete?

Several consumers have recently complained that the Windows Store download speeds are either excruciatingly sluggish or nonexistent. Here are all of the alternative remedies for the Windows Store sluggish download speed issue that you can try.

How To Fix Microsoft Store SLOW DOWNLOADS!

Method 1. UPDATE WINDOWS

If there is a known flaw with Windows Store, Microsoft may have already issued a patch to address it. To check for new updates under Windows Update, open Settings by pressing Windows key+I and then clicking Update & Security.

If an update is available, download it and install it before relaunching Windows Store to double-check.

Method 2. MICROSOFT SERVERS ARE DOWN

The Windows Store is powered by Azure, Microsoft’s proprietary cloud computing platform. Down Detector is an interesting website that monitors service outages for a variety of big providers, including Facebook, Apple, and Microsoft Azure.

Check to see if there have been any reports of the service being unavailable in your area. If that’s the case, rest assured that they’re working on it as you read this tutorial.

Method 3. CHECK INTERNET SPEED

Let us not hold manufacturers responsible for everything that occurs on our computers. It could be due to sporadic Internet access. Visit SpeedTest to check your download speed and make sure you’re getting the speeds you’re paying for from your ISP.

If the speed isn’t what you expected, try rebooting your router. If that doesn’t work, contact your ISP and have them troubleshoot the problem for you.

Method 4. WINDOWS STORE IS BUSY

Batch processing is used by the Windows Store to download and update programs on your computer. That means at any given time, only a few apps are being downloaded simultaneously. Check to see if Windows Store is currently downloading other apps. There will be a download queue if this is the case. Patience is required.

If there are any ongoing or pending downloads, you will see them downloading instead of the ‘Modified’ statement in the screenshot above. If not, keep reading.

Method 5. DATE AND TIME

On my PC, I’ve had date and time mismatches in the past. When I turned off my computer, the date and time stopped ticking, and when I turned it back on, the clock started ticking again. It’s a pain in the neck. Check that your computer’s date and time are correct, and if they aren’t, right-click on the date widget in the Taskbar and pick the Adjust date/time option.

I recommend that you toggle the Adjust time automatically and Set time zone automatically options, but if it doesn’t work, you can always manually set the time and date.

Now is the time to relaunch the Windows Store and assess the download speeds.

Method 6. SIGN OUT AND BACK IN

I’ve offered this fix for a variety of other apps and issues. Some others have had luck with the Windows Store as well. To choose your user name, open the Store and click on your profile picture at the top.

You can now easily sign out. I would try rebooting your computer before signing back in, even if it is not required.

Check to see whether the Windows Store sluggish download speed issue has been resolved.

Method 7. WINDOWS STORE TROUBLESHOOTER

You may utilize the Troubleshooter in Windows 10 to, well, troubleshoot. Search for ‘troubleshooter’ in the Windows icon (start menu) and select Troubleshoot settings.

Here you’ll find a list of Windows apps and services to troubleshoot. To run Windows Store Apps, go to the very bottom of the list and click on it. Check to see if it detects anything.

Method 8. CHANGE DELIVERY OPTIMIZATION SETTINGS

This is a fancy term that basically implies that there is a hidden setting that limits the maximum download rates from the Windows Store. What? That’s right, sly. To access Settings, press Windows key+I and look for Delivery Optimization settings.

Select Advanced options at the bottom of the page.

Under the Download settings, toggle on both options and set the slider to 100%. That should take care of the Windows Store’s poor download rates.

Method 9. DELETE WINDOWS STORE CACHE FILES

Is it possible that a recent Windows Update messed up the download rates on the Windows Store? Even if that isn’t the case, I recommend deleting the linked cache files to ensure they aren’t causing any problems. With admin access, search for and open the Command Prompt from the Start menu. When the file is open, run the command below.

wsreset

You should get a notice like ‘The cache for the Store’ was removed once the system has finished cleaning the house. By downloading any software from the Windows Store, you can test the download speed.

Method 10. RESET WINDOWS STORE

People, don’t be concerned. This method will merely re-register Windows Store to your system and Microsoft account, rather than deleting your current program. It will, at the very least, delete Windows Store preferences. Press Windows key+I and then Apps to reopen Settings.

Scroll down to Windows Store, click it to display Advanced options, and then choose it.

To Reset Windows Store, scroll to the bottom of the screen.

Method 11. SPEED IS THE NEW NORMAL

I believe the development team wanted to ensure that adequate bandwidth was available to browse the web while apps and updates were being downloaded in the background. That’s how you can continue working on your Windows system while doing other things. It can, however, considerably speed things up. If not, there are a variety of additional options to consider.

In this video, we are gonna show you how to fix Microsoft Store slow download speed issue:

That’s about it.
