Google Meet (formerly Google Hangouts Meets) is Google’s attempt to take on Microsoft Teams and Zoom. It is widely used in education and in some companies and provides a great free video conferencing service, for a limited time during the pandemic.
Google Meet is integrated into Google services such as Hangouts, Gmail, and much more. If you need to access and use Google Meet on your PC or laptop, you don’t need to download it. Here are the steps:
How To Download and Install Google Meet On PC, Laptop
1. Launch Chrome browser. Open Gmail and login with your Google account.
2. Visit meet.google.com
3. Then, click on the Menu button (the 3 vertical dots) of the Chrome browser, select More Tools and click on Create Shortcut.
4. In the Create Shortcut menu, type Google Meet in the text entry area and select Open as a Window.
5. A shortcut should now be created to the app on your desktop, which when clicked will open in a new window.
