This problem may occur when you are using a highly weighted game, running software like Visual Studio, MATLAB, VMware Workstation etc. When this happens, Windows will move the least used pages of memory out to a hidden file named pagefile.sys. This file is found in root of system drives, hence that some RAM can be achieved and provided to running applications. In case Windows fails to do so, this is the error message you’ll get:

Step 1. Press Windows Key + R then type sysdm.cpl in Run dialog box and click OK to open System Properties.

Step 2. When the System Properties window opens, go to Advanced tab. In Performance section, you click Settings option to open Performance Options window.

Step 3. Then, go to Advanced tab. In Virtual memory section, you click Change…

Step 4. In the Virtual memory window, you uncheck the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives option.

Step 5. Next, highlight your system drive under Paging file size for each type heading. Select Custom size option, you need to set the suitable values for fields: Maximum size (MB) and Initial size (MB).

Note: Here, I highly recommended you shouldn’t select No paging file option.

Step 6. Lastly, you click OK > OK > Apply > OK to save changes. Then restart your system.
