You won’t be able to live chat with your friends online or participate in/host any multi-player games if Teredo is unable to qualify on Xbox. Although this can be aggravating, it’s usually not difficult to resolve.

How To Fix Teredo is enable to qualify For Xbox & Windows 11/10

Here are six solutions that other users have used to remedy the Teredo is unable to qualify issue. It’s possible that you won’t need to attempt all of them; simply work your way down the list until the issue is remedied.

  1. Check your Internet connection
  2. Uninstall and reinstall the Teredo adapter
  3. Check if the startup type of IP Helper is set to automatic
  4. Set the Teredo server name to its default
  5. Delete unnecessary entries
  6. Check if your router has been configured to enable Teredo connectivity

Fix 1: Check your Internet connection

Check to see that your Internet is working properly before fixing the error. The Teredo is unable to qualify problem due to a nonworking or Internet connection.

Here’s how to do it:

1) Open the Xbox app on your PC.

2) Choose the settings icon Network. Then check if Internet connection says Connected.

3) Depending on the state of your Internet connection:

  • If the network status says Connected, proceed to Fix 2 for additional troubleshooting.
  • If the network status says Not connected, you should first address the Internet problem. If you’re not sure where to begin, start with steps 4)–7) to update the network driver for your computer.

4) Download Driver Easy and install it.

5) Launch Driver Easy and select Scan Now from the menu. After that, Driver Easy will check your computer for any problematic drivers.

6) Click Update All to have all the missing or out-of-date drivers on your system automatically downloaded and installed (this requires the Pro version; you’ll be requested to upgrade when you click Update All).

7) Restart your computer and verify if the Internet is working:

  • If that works, see if the Teredo is unable to qualify problem has been rectified. If the problem persists, move on to Fix 2 to continue troubleshooting.

Fix 2: Uninstall and reinstall the Teredo adapter

It’s also conceivable that your present Teredo adapter is corrupted or incompatible with your system, causing the issue. So we can delete the Teredo adapter and verify if it works before reinstalling it. Here’s how to do it:

Note: 1) – 9) The Teredo adapter can be uninstalled using the steps listed below.

1. Press the Windows logo key and type cmd on your keyboard. Then right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator from the context menu.

2. To confirm, click Yes.

3. Press Enter after typing the following command.

netsh interface Teredo set state disable

4. The Command Prompt window should now be closed.

5. Press the Windows logo key and R at the same moment on your keyboard. Then, in the Run box, type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.

6. Go to View > Show hidden devices.

7. Double-click on Network adapters.

8. Right-click on any adapter that contains Teredo and select Uninstall.

9. Your computer should be restarted.

Note: The Teredo adapter can be reinstalled in the following steps: 1) – 4)

1. Press the Windows logo key, then type cmd on your keyboard. Then, on Command Prompt, right-click and select Run as administrator.

 

2. To confirm, press Yes.

3. Press Enter after entering the following command.

4. Check to see whether the Teredo is unable to qualify problem has been resolved on Xbox. If the answer is yes, congratulations! But don’t panic if it doesn’t work; there are a few other options to consider.

Fix 3: Check if the startup type of IP Helper is set to automatic

To get Teredo to perform properly, we need to make sure the IP Helper service’s launch type is set to automatic.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Hit the Windows logo key and R at the same time on your keyboard, then type services.msc and press Enter.

 

2. Double-click on IP Helper to activate it.

3. Select Automatic from the drop-down selection in Startup type, then click OK.

4. Check to see if the Teredo is unable to qualify issue has been resolved, and you may now use party chat or play multiplayer Xbox Live games.

Fix 4: Set the Teredo server name to its default

A bad value for the Teredo server name could also be the cause of Teredo’s inability to receive an IP address, resulting in the Teredo is unable to qualify issue. So, here’s how to change the server name to default:

1. Press the Windows logo key and type cmd on your keyboard. Then right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator from the context menu.

2. To confirm, click Yes.

3. Press Enter after typing the following command.

netsh interface Teredo set state servername=default

4. Check to see if Teredo is unable to qualify problem has been resolved.

Fix 5: Delete unnecessary entries

When unneeded entries are added to the hosts file, the error can occur. To verify the hosts file and delete any entries that are identified, follow these steps:

1) Press the Windows logo key on your keyboard and type cmd. Then right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator from the context menu.

2) To confirm, click Yes.

3) Press Enter after typing the following command.

notepad.exe c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

4) A notepad window appears right away. Press the Ctrl and F keys at the same time in the notepad window. Then, in the Find Next box, type win10.ipv6.microsoft.com.

5) If any entries are discovered, erase them and save the file.

6) Check Xbox to check whether the problem with Teredo is unable to qualify problem has been resolved. If the problem remains, proceed to Fix 6 below.

Fix 6: Check if your router has been configured to enable Teredo connectivity

When an IPv6 connection is detected, certain routers will disable Teredo communication. As a result, verify sure your router’s firmware is up to date and, if necessary, contact the router’s provider for assistance.

After that, see if you can play multiplayer games on Xbox Live with your Xbox.
