Here’s what you can do if the problem persists.
What can I do if I can’t connect to the iPhone’s WiFi hotspot?
Method 1. Troubleshoot the Personal hotspot problems
1. Check that your iOS device, PC, and wireless plan all meet the Personal Hotspot system requirements.
2. Personal Hotspot should be enabled if you go to Settings > General > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
3. Verify your iOS device’s Internet connection by opening Safari and loading a new webpage.
4. If one form of connection fails, try another (for example, instead of connecting using Wi-Fi, try using USB or Bluetooth).
5. Personal Hotspot may be disabled and enabled under Settings > Personal Hotspot or Settings > General > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
6. Download and install the most recent version of iOS. To update your software, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
7. By going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, you can reset your network settings.
If none of the preceding steps work, you can restore your iPhone.
Method 2. Troubleshoot the WiFi hotspot problems
1. Turn off your Personal Hotspot.
2. Check that Wi-Fi is turned ON in Settings > Wi-Fi.
3. Restart the Personal Hotspot.
4. If another device is unable to connect to your Wi-Fi network, check that the user has entered the right Wi-Fi password.
5. Check your device’s name if it can’t find your Wi-Fi network (Windows may not properly display a device name that uses non-ASCII characters).
6. Check the number of devices that are currently connected to your Personal Hotspot. Depending on your wireless carrier, the maximum number of Wi-Fi connections you can have at one time may be limited to three.
7. If the other device still won’t connect, try turning the device’s Wi-Fi off and on. Check to determine whether your device can connect to other Wi-Fi networks.
Method 3. Update network drivers
Because old network drivers could be causing your iPhone’s hotspot connection issue, the best remedy is to utilize Driver Easy, the best third-party updater program for this job.
Yes, we recommend this software since it is simple to use, quick, and dependable.
The most significant feature of a driver updater is that it gives you access to the latest drivers from the manufacturers, and Driver Easy offers a large library of them.
Even if you don’t require a new driver or none are available, this fantastic piece of software detects and replaces any that are faulty or missing.
You don’t have to take our word for it because Driver Easy is available for free.
Method 4. Change the name of your iPhone
1. Go to Settings > General > About > Name from the drop-down menu.
2. To remove your current name, click the X symbol.
3. You’re now ready to go with a new name.
Note: A few users reported that removing extra spaces from the hotspot name fixed the problem for them, so be sure to try that as well.
Once you change the hotspot name, your PC will be able to connect to the iPhone WiFi hotspot again.
Method 5. Use the Forget option for the WiFi hotspot
1. In the lower right corner, click the Wi-Fi symbol.
2. Locate your Wi-Fi hotspot, right-click it, and select Forget from the menu that appears.
If you try to connect to it again, you’ll be prompted for a password. After that, the Wi-Fi network will begin to function.
You can use this option to prevent your device from automatically connecting to the same hotspot source. This will cause your iPhone to forget your computer’s Wi-Fi address, allowing you to rejoin to the iPhone hotspot.
Method 6. Change the iPhone’s hotspot password
According to customers, if Windows is unable to connect to an iPhone WiFi hotspot, the problem could be the password for the hotspot. However, updating the password on your hotspot will solve the problem.
This procedure should be completed quickly and without requiring extensive technical knowledge. To easily reset your password, simply press the change password button and enter your old and new passwords.
You should be able to connect to the iPhone’s hotspot again now that the issue has been rectified.
Method 7. Uninstall the Intel Proset wireless software
1. Navigate to the Settings app and then go to Apps section.
2. From the list, choose Intel Proset wireless software and click the Uninstall button.
3. To remove it, follow the instructions on the screen.
When you remove the software, reboot your PC.
Note: If you don’t use Intel Proset software, be sure to remove your wireless software and check if that helps.
