How To Fix Can’t join Windows Insider on Windows 10

Method 1. Using Settings app

The first thing you’ll need to turn on Optional diagnostic data. Here are the steps:

1. Right click Start button and select Settings.

2. In the Settings app, select Privacy.

3. In the left pane, go to Diagnostics & feedback.

3. In right pane of Diagnostics & feedback, make sure Optional diagnostic data is enabled. Also make sure that Improve Inking and typing and Tailored experiences options are set to On in this location.

Now you should be able to join Windows Insider programmer on your Windows 10, as expected.

Method 2. Using Registry

1. Press Windows + R, type in “regedit” in run box. Click OK to open Registry Editor.

2. In Registry Editor window, go to the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost

3. Right click on WindowsSelfHost registry key and click Delete. In the confirmation from appearing next, click Yes.

4. Close Registry Editor and reboot your system to make changes effective.

After restarting your computer, retry joining Windows Insider programmer, and check if it works.
